About us

Lennard Funk established ShoulderDoc.co.uk in 2002. 

With thanks to the efforts and hard work of Timothy Funk and Ken Powell, 18 months of hard work, we have managed to keep the site going and refreshed in 2024. 

ShoulderDoc started off as a simple site to provide my own patients with information and guidance that was not easily available elsewhere. I was fortunate to be able to employ a medical artist for a few years to help illustrate the site and have tried to make the site as user-friendly as possible and fresh content is added almost weekly.

Wherever possible the reference sources are mentioned and hyper-linked. Sources for reference material include medical textbooks, clinical and scientific journals and our own clinical audits.

My mission is:

1. To educate and partner my patients in making decisions at every stage.
2. To ensure that our information is of the highest integrity and evidence based.
3. To contribute to education for medical professionals.
